Located in the Minas Gerais state, the Mantiqueria de Minas area was the first to get a geographical indiction in the Brazilian coffee industry. Their approach to the terriror in which coffee is grown here, has a similar nature to the approach in the wine industry and is redefining how people view Brazilian coffee in the speciality world. All coffees from this region score around 84 SCA points and many enter the Cup of Excellence in Brazil. Steeper slopes here mean that the status quo of mechanical picking is less of an option, and hand-picking is much more prevalent.
This coffee was a stand out for the team and we believe this can be a surprising example of how wonderful an origin Brazil can be. Expect a velvety mouthfeel with big peach flavours, rounded off with a butterscotch sweetness.
